The hardship letter is something most lenders will require consider to consider you for a loan workout, the first step toward granting a loan modification. Let’s sample what should be included in a hardship letter. You need to consider this as your opportunity to appeal to the mortgagor to give you another chance – not to complain about the injustices of the bank. The hardship letter must be honest and represent the facts clearly. It needs to prove that the situation causing you to fall behind was temporary and you are now in a position to make your payments on time. You must also present a legitimate excuse for falling behind; financial problems alone are not an adequate excuse.
